My New Summer Uniform: The T-Shirt Dress PLUS A [Brief] Blog Hiatus

It’s summertime and the living is easy! Nothing against Winter’s layers or Spring’s crop tops and tutu skirts but I can really deal without the fashion fuss when the weather is as hot as it is now…which leads me to my newfound obsession, my exciting new summer uniform: the t-shirt dress.

I first discovered it on Boohoo, the site I’m equally obsessed with. And I even wore one in the French Quarter in New Orleans. It’s breezy like a maxi skirt which I’m known for pairing with a crop top (coincidentally, my last summer uniform).

But unlike that two-piece moment with a t-shirt dress, you can just throw it on and go. No thinking or planning necessary. Who has the time for that anyway when there are places to go and people to see?

Speaking of which, I’ve been beefing up the travel section of this site and I hope you enjoy it. So far, I’ve covered adventures in Trinidad, Tobago, Barbados, Bahamas and New Orleans, and I have posts on Vegas and Jamaica (where I am now!) to come.

And finally, about Jamaica. Believe it or not, with all this travel, I had yet to take a non-working vacation all year. So this is it. Following our #NolaCrawl, I realized I was in dire need of some rest, relaxation and me time. When I found myself stressed with work and family life, and upset at the mere mention of a conference call (I’m talking tears and frustration), I realized “this is what burnout feels like.” So my posts have slowed down on the blog (as my family pries my fingers away from the computer keyboard!) and they’ll pick up next week.
