#FabFriday: Link Up Your Denim Shorts (PLUS Why I Love Barbados!)

Glamazons,

What’s not to love about Barbados? The island is peaceful, beautiful and colorful. It was the perfect place to end our #CaribbeanCrawl, which also included Trinidad (for Carnival) and Tobago.

I got swept up in the colorful architecture of Barbados’ St. Lawrence Gap neighborhood where we stayed, and decided to wear a breezy printed coverup from Forever 21 (also worn here) to explore it:

In honor of the last month of summer, we’re linking up denim shorts for #FabFriday!

Can’t wait to see all your fun denim shorts!

And by the way, did I mention the Barbados was colorful? We experienced some of the most breathtaking views and beaches during our tour with the Barbados Tourism Board but there was plenty of beauty right outside our front door.

At Lexi‘s suggestion (#LBK), we stayed at the gorgeous St. Lawrence Beach condos in the aptly-titled “Heavenly Hideaway,” which included two bedrooms, two showers, a living room, kitchen, in-room washer/dryer and more!

Isn’t it pretty? We were blown away by the beach (that crystal clear water!) and pool, which we could see from our window.

As if that wasn’t dreamy enough, the St. Lawrence Beach Condos are around the corner from a strip of restaurants, sidewalk food vendors, convenience stores, bars and clubs (and that strip is literally littered with taxis, should you want to venture out further on the island). The neighborhood was so full of life.

We enjoyed happy hour (and wifi!) at Sharkey’s, had delicious breakfast at Moonbay (get the hashbrowns, you will thank me!), enjoyed the famous flying fish dish (with cou cou) at Brown Sugar restaurant, grabbed roti at Chefette and had even more fish at Oistins fish fry on Friday.

I met a monkey at Oistins! His name is Sunshine :)

The nightlife was just as exciting! In St. Lawrence Gap, there was literally a bar for everyone from a karaoke spot to a jazz lounge. We went to The Old Jamm Inn, missed Sugar Ultra Lounge (but it looked fun from outside!), and Lexi and I spent all night dancing at Hal’s Karaoke Bar.

And even with all the nightlife, we felt safe because of the amazing security at St. Lawrence Beach condos. Jerry, who took watch over the condo overnight, made sure we got cabs (he only let us ride with people he knew) and gave us plenty of advice on where to eat and what to see. He was awesome!

We even made time to visit Dover Beach, one of the beaches in walking distance of the condos.

I got a bit of sunburn at the beach, but Danielle gave me Lucas Papaw Ointment which cleared it up right away. And I loved Tresemme Luxurious Moisture Conditioner for prepping my hair for swimming; and Sienna Naturals cleansing hair wash and leave in conditioner for bringing it back to life afterwards. All three came in handy when we went snorkeling!

Yes, the team at St. Lawrence Beach Condos hooked us up with a day of snorkeling and swimming with the sea turtles with Seascape Customized Cruises! We were picked up at our condo and ushered away to a nearby beach, where we took a speedboat further out to sea. Danielle was a bit nervous about swimming in the ocean so she snapped photos of us from the boat.

We swam up to an incredible underwater shipwreck from 1919 (I could’ve swam on top of it forever, there was so much to explore and get lost in!). We saw the most gorgeous fish, including a bright yellow and turquoise one that Lexi, Christina and I went crazy over. And we swam next to a sea turtle. Guys, the turtle’s yellow, green and brown colors are mesmerizing up close.

After snorkeling, it was time to party. We sipped rum punch, had an impromptu photo shoot and sang along to Drake‘s “Hold On We’re Going Home,” as we sailed back to shore.

So much fun!

If you go to Barbados, I highly recommend staying in St. Lawrence Gap because of the convenience of it all, and St. Lawrence Beach Condos made our stay feel like Paradise.

Cheers to the end of a successful #CaribbeanCrawl – I’ll never forget it. I hope you guys enjoyed all our pictures, videos and posts. Until the next one!

Kisses,

Glamazon Jessica
