Glamazons,

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know I spent this weekend in the Bahamas for the second part of our Caribbean Crawl. As close as it is (only a 3 hour flight from NYC), I don’t remember ever going before.

And I vow to visit more because it is absolutely beautiful: clear blue water, white sands and endless sunshine! I traveled with my blogger besties, Lexi of Lexi With The Curls and Christina of LoveBrownSugar to celebrate Lexi‘s birthday. It was the perfect girls trip. We stayed at the RIU Hotel and literally never had to leave the resort.

The beach was breathtaking (with fish that would swim right up to you!), the pool was the perfect place to luxuriate (it even had a swim-up bar) and the food and drinks were all-inclusive.

Normally, when food is included, I expect it to taste subpar but the food at RIU Hotels was anything but. The buffet style lunch, for example, was absolutely delicious! I got fish that was seasoned to perfection and tasted some of the girls’ incredible oxtail. We also went to the steakhouse and had “Surf and Turf.” The lobster was out of this world!

The room was just as beautiful with a balcony, a walk-in closet, an in-room bar and a huge bathroom. Some things to keep in mind: keep your towel card with you at all times (literally next to your passport) because it’s $20 to replace it. And though most of the staff was super nice and accommodating, customer service is not nearly as fast as in the States. I had to adjust from the frenetic NYC pace to the easy, breezy Caribbean way of being. It was a bumpy transition at first but ultimately felt good to lay back, relax and not worry about a thing!

Clockwise from top left: taking in the sights at the beach, the swim-up bar at the pool, healthy options for my #FabFit diet at the breakfast buffet, the view of the beach from my room!

All in all, it was an incredible experience! I would definitely go back, or check out the RIU Hotels in other locations like Spain, Central America and Morocco.

I was telling my Dad Atlantis was super fun — and we were running around with 10 year-olds! We definitely have to go back there eventually.
