What to Wear to a Super Bowl Party

No matter what team you end up rooting for — the Kansas City Chiefs or San Francisco 49ers — or if you’re just there for the halftime show (hello, Usher!), I can bet you want to look fly on Super Bowl Sunday. But what does one wear to a Super Bowl party in order to look fashionable but still appropriately dressed for the event?

The festivities — which usually include lots of conversation, camaraderie, and a menu of buffalo chicken wings, beer, chips and dip — call for a fun, casual look with a sporty flair. But there are plenty of ways to get creative and still express your personal style at the same time.

What To Wear To a Super Bowl Party

Comfort is the name of the game (save the high heels for another day). Flats and sneakers are big this season so you can participate in trends like buckled Mary Janes, chunky New Balances, or cool Converse sneakers and still fit the Super Bowl party dress code.

If you want to get festive, you can rock your team’s colors or logos to show your support. Think a fitted (or oversize) jersey top you can order from Amazon. Not into sports and want to wear a clever, conversation-starting piece to that effect? Grab a “Halftime Show” sweatshirt from Etsy or this hilarious “IDC” sweatshirt from Betches.

If it’s cold where you are, the best move is to layer, especially if you’re going from the cold weather outside to the heated indoors. Think cardigans or leather / bomber jackets, you can peel on and off as the temperatures change.

Finally, just because you dress casual, doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish. Well-placed accessories like a designer bag, sunglasses, red lipstick, or a pair of gold oversized studs will make you look fashion-forward without being too dressy.

I’ll be hitting up a house party in an on-theme sweater dress (team colors) and sneakers. What are your Super Bowl plans, Glamazons?

Tell me in the comments.
