When someone asks you to take a day trip to Atlanta to shop at the coolest boutiques and test drive the all-new Lincoln MKC, you say yes. I had that amazing opportunity with Lincoln Motor Company this week (still living it — typing this from my hotel room) and the last 24 hours have been a dream.
I packed a bag late Sunday night (but was present enough to remember my Altuzarra for Target dress) and headed to LaGuardia airport nice and early Monday morning.
When I landed after a short two hour flight on Delta Airlines, a lovely gentleman was waiting for Danielle of StyleBlazer and I with this sign:
How fancy!
We arrived at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and were ushered to our rooms.
And about our rooms, get your life:
Why is the bathroom so beautiful?! I definitely saddled up in the hot tub reading Gone Girl a la Olivia Pope. I could get used to this!
A couple of hours later, we headed downstairs to the front of the Mandarin Oriental to, wait for it, choose which Lincoln MKC we wanted to drive for the crawl. Seriously?!
It was love at first sight for the platinum white Lincoln MKC!

My girls Danielle and Kimberly Wilson of Cocoa Fab looked fab posing with the white Lincoln MKC.
Trina and I rode around in the white car (isn’t it pretty?) but I was also intrigued by this gorg purple version.
I later learned the regal color is called “Tahitian pearl” and during the day, it yields shades of crimson red and violet while at night, it picks up dark blue hues. Sexy!

You guys already know from this review that I love the Lincoln MKC for the MyLincoln mobile app that can start the car remotely and can tell you where you’ve parked.
What I didn’t know then was that the Lincoln MKC is the smoothest ride ever! And you can switch between comfortable, normal and sporty driving modes, depending on what you’re in the mood for.
A couple other things I loved during the test drive? The sound system — enhanced THX surround sound — because the music was so crisp and clear it made me feel like I was at a concert. I was equally obsessed with the ventilated seats, which can warm up or cool down. If your legs have ever been scorched in the summer after you get into your car, you’ll appreciate this!
I was also surprised to learn that the interior design of the Lincoln MKC, Lincoln’s first-ever small premium utility vehicle, was influenced by fashion!
I always say, Glamazons, fashion is about mixing colors, whether you’re colorblocking with yellow and purple like this outfit:
Or picking out the right neutral and pop of color like this gold sequin skirt I paired with green pumps:
It turns out designing the interior of a car is a lot like that. Jenny Kubinec, Lincoln’s Colors & Interiors Designer, explained that dark, rich colors get paired with an ebony interior and white sand interiors get matched with dark chocolate/espresso colors.
And drivers have the option of a hazelnut medium tone color which is warm, inviting and super luxe. The right interior is always complimentary to the color of the car without being too matchy-matchy, much like the right accessory.

And speaking of accessories, our first stop on the boutique crawl was Emly Benham boutique.
I fell in love with these Michael Kors caged booties.
I scored a pair of earrings, and swooned over the boutique’s luxe clothes, accessories and jewelry:

We ended the day at the best steakhouse in all of Atlanta, Kevin Rathbun Steak (this is no exaggeration):
Yvette Caslin of Rolling Out, Tami of Talking with Tami, Trina, Lexi and I snapped a picture before dinner.
We had crab legs, shrimp and oysters — and that was just the appetizer! The steak (which we dipped in truffle oil) and the corn tasted like little pieces of heaven. I plan to come here every time I’m in Atlanta, it’s that good!
I’m so glad I got to catch up with these two beauties!
A day of shopping, eating incredible food and hitting the road in the elegant, luxurious Lincoln MKC? My October is made. Thank you to Lincoln Motor Company for having me!
