I have a confession. I was never into shorts. I just didn’t know how to wear them and not look like a ‘hoochie mama’ (my mother’s words, not mine) until I tried my hand a pair of short flowy Forever21 shorts paired with tights and combat boots.
Granted they weren’t as short as Rih Rih’s on the cover of Rolling Stone, but they were tiny. So that gives me hope that I can too can wear short shorts– after a few squats.
Glamazons, you too can pull this look off with a few easy tips.
Just say no to camel toe!
The higher the shorts, the looser they should fit. That way you don’t risk having a wedgie or camel toe, that’s never chic. Oh and you don’t want the shorts to cling to your legs like leggings or skinny jeans.
Cover up!
Because you don’t want to show too much skin (because duh, that would make you look like a hoochie mama), cover up on top. Pair your shorts with a top that offers maximum coverage. It’s all about balance.
Get Low!
When it comes your shoes, that is. Keep the heels low, and you won’t look like the other kind of “working girl.” Wedges are also a nice alternative, if you would like a little height. Another great option to tone down the shorts is to pair the look with tights. Plus now, it allows you to still look springy in this chilly weather.
