#Coachella 2012 Fashion Roundup: Katy Perry, Fergie, Lindsay Lohan, Vanessa Hudgens and More

Crop tops, combat boots, maxi skirts, oh my! Glamazons descended upon Indio, California for the 2012 Coachella music festival which began last Friday and ends Sunday, April 22nd. There are tons of musical acts to look forward to (Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, Radiohead and The Black Keys among them) and even more exciting celebrities to spot while enjoying the parties and concerts.

More importantly, the fashion is always so imaginative and exciting! I look to the pairings for inspiration for how I will dress at every outdoor Brooklyn function this summer.

Check out some of the Glamazons snapped by the paps out and about at Coachella and tell us whether their look is GLAM or a SHAM:

Katy Perry stepped out on Saturday night in a sheer sixties-style maxidress (that unfortunately ripped) under a leather jacket. She rocked a black bra and black high-waisted briefs underneath and finished the look in combat boots. Given the environment,  I’m not totally mad at this.

And I’ll take any shade over Smurf hair. Neither GLAM nor SHAM, this gets a MEH.

In addition to her Topshop/Levi’s/Adidas outfit, Rihanna stepped out in Coachella showing off that midriff (hey, if you work that hard to keep it tight, why not?). She wore a denim bustier and paisley orange and blue fitted pants. Of course, she threw on one of her fave Trapstar caps and white sneaks. I love this look for giving boho and casual fly girl in the same moment. And the Trapstar cap is great for pulling low over her eyes…since she’s clearly getting…nevermind. GLAM.

Paris Hilton is alive! She resurfaced at the music festival also giving a midriff-baring moment in a white bandeau and colorful maxidress. I’m actually really into this look (Solange rocked a similar look last year) and would probably wear it everyday if I went to Coachella. It’s easy, breezy and super sexy. The turquoise necklace and headdress, however, I could’ve done without. Still GLAM.

Oh, hey Vanessa Hudgens! I love seeing Vanessa’s Coachella looks because she dresses the Boho part pretty much everyday. However, this was a disappointment for me. Knee-highs in that sweltering heat? And her floppy hat, printed tunic and ikat bag don’t mix with those combat boots…like at all. This is a SHAM.

Her boo Austin Butler liked it though. We’re not mad.

Guys, I live for a Whitney Port fashion sighting. Who does California chic better? The reality star/designer hit Coachella layering a bright turquoise jacket over a long-sleeve neon top. A printed mini, suede booties and a straw bag adorned with pink details completed the look. She really is a master of mixing Spring’s trends and I love what she’s doing with colorblocking, brights and prints here. Bravo. I could do without the shoes but altogether, the look werques. GLAM.

Whitney’s work BFF Lauren Conrad was also on the scene at the Coachella Lacoste Live! party. The adorable Glamour covergirl wore my favorite look yet. A straw fedora, white rise and fall hem blouse, a bright striped mini, gold thong sandals with a pair of colorful sunglasses for fun. So easy, breezy! Certified GLAM.

L.C. posed beside “Glee“-ful actress Lea Michele who kept it simple and chic in a white shirtdress showing a peek of her pink swimsuit, pink shades and glamazing peeptoe wedges with an ankle strap. Tres GLAM.

And there’s Kate Bosworth. The actress wore an adorable tiger print t-shirt, gold studded shorts, a quilted black bag and combat boots. How tough luxe is this moment? It’s a nice change from her normal Boho look and all the pieces compliment each other perfectly. Obvious GLAM.

Yes, that’s the gorgeous Camila Belle. The actress was a beauty in white rocking an ivory jean jacket and ruffled dress. She finished off the look with white and black flat sandals, a gray bag and black and white arm candy. While I NEED a pop of color with this look, I love how understated and chic it is. I’m giving this a GLAM.

Long live the crop top! Emma Roberts got funky at Coachella with a straw fedora, a black lace crop top (and bra underneath…no nips here) and black and white printed pants. While I see where she was going with this look, I would’ve preferred a crop top without lace (even basic sheer fabric could’ve worked) so as not to compete with her bold pants. For that reason, the outfit looks overworked when it should feel effortless. It gets a MEH.

Chanel Iman pretty much looked like a goddess in a black crop top and bikini briefs with a killer studded belt to match a leather harness on her belly. The California girl topped it all off with a black bandana (cue Tupac!). Umm, GLAM SLAM!

Cute boyfriend, though (Chord Overstreet from “Glee“).

Fergie Ferg! The Black-Eyed Peas frontwoman hit the grass in a lovely cream halter dress with a braided belt and draped hem. She paired the dress with a fringe vest, a cream hobo bag, brown boots, brown necklaces and Aviator sunglasses. I love the Grecian/safari theme this is giving. She looks so elegant and chic yet casual and appropriate for the festivities. GLAM GLAM GLAM.

And last but not least, we have Lindsay Lohan.

The actress stepped out at Coachella in a white leopard mini which she accessorized with yellow-rimmed sunglasses and a green bag. She rocked what looks like printed Jeffrey Campbell Litas and threw on a sheer blouse (a la Cher in Clueless) when the weather got chilly.

That dress could use a few more inches but overall, I love the lewk. GLAM.
