Countdown to Scandal Season 3: Olivia Pope’s Best Looks

Glamazons,

During “Scandal” Season 2, I couldn’t wait to post recaps on Olivia Pope‘s fashion after each episode. Why, you ask? Well, I really really love the clothes.

Wardrobe stylist Lyn Paolo has done extraordinary work making Olivia look fashionable, whether she’s headed to work at Olivia Pope & Associates (OPA) or attending a red carpet gala or just sipping wine and eating popcorn in her apartment.

And what’s truly genius is how Lyn weaves Olivia‘s fashion into the storyline: white signifies that Liv means business and is in total control and dark colors (navy, grey) are for the tough times when life is taking its toll on Liv. Brilliant.

Over Season 2, Liv twirled in stylish peplum blazers, long gloves, impeccable suits and dazzling red carpet gowns. Let’s reminisce over 5 of her best looks of Season 2 (in no particular order).

5. Olivia’s Salvatore Ferragamo Pink Coat

In Episode 221 “Any Questions” after Mellie broke the news of Fitz‘s affair on national television, Liv strolled into OPA the next morning without a care in the world.

She wore a Salvatore Ferragamo Cream Pearl Cashmere and Wool Blend Coat (similar coat here). That gorgeous pale pink color is huge this Fall, and it makes Liv look as elegant as ever.

4. Olivia’s Michael Kors Ivory Dress with Black Lace

Liv gave Fitz a flag pin for inauguration in Episode 208 “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” wearing a Michael Kors white and black lace dress.

She just embodies femininity and innocence in this dress. And she wears black and white so well. I LIVE!

3. Olivia’s Louise Green White Hat

In Episode 222 “The White Hat’s Back On,” Olivia put on a Louise Green ‘Danny’ hat in winter white velour with a narrow velvet band and beaded applique.

Has anyone ever looked cooler in a fedora?

2. Olivia’s Escada Black and White ‘Gorinn’ Gown

For the White House gala in Episode 215 “Boom Goes the Dynamite,” Liv wore an Escada ‘Gorinn’ gown in black and white and a Kotur ‘Levin’ clutch (similar clutch here).

No wonder Fitz and Jake are battling for her affection.

1. Olivia’s White and Gold Jean Fares Couture Gown

Olivia dressed up for Fitz‘s birthday party in Episode 208 “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” in an unforgettable Jean Fares Couture ‘Shine’ gown from the Haute Couture “Iline” collection (info here). Look at her glow!

And honorable mention goes to:

Her Burberry trench

Liv wore it to talk to homeless Huck in the heartbreaking Episode 219 “Seven Fifty Two”. Get it here.

Her Elbow Length Gloves

Liv stays in a pair of opera length Gaspar Gloves! Here, she wore a pair for a champagne date with Jake in Episode 215 “Boom Goes The Dynamite.” Get a similar pair here.

Her Amazing Swimwear

In Episode 214 “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot”Liv swam away her pain after Fitz left her in a Lenny Niemeyer white ‘Basic Touch Argento’ swimsuit from the Resort 2012 collection (similar suit here).

In Episode 220 “A Woman Scorned”, she continued to indulge in her new swimming hobby in a Lenny Niemeyer white halter swimsuit with black trim (similar suit here). Yes, even her swimwear is chic.

Her Prada ‘Saffiano’ Tote

Liv is rarely seen without her Prada ‘Saffiano’ tote, which she owns in grey, brown and tan. Get it here.

So in love with these looks, Glamazons! AND I’m crazy about the Burberry coat Liv already wore in the Season 3 trailer.
