What I Wore #NYFWCrawl Edition: Rachel Roy from Rent The Runway

I’m pretty tired and running on E right now – even though it’s only Day 2 of New York Fashion Week. My schedule is jam-packed and won’t let up until next week. This morning — after shopping ’til I dropped at Phillip Lim for Target last night, literally — I woke up at 9:15am. And my first show, “Project Runway,” started at 9:45am. GAG!

Because it’s my first year being invited to the “Project Runway” season finale taping, I was determined to get there no matter what. Since I smartly showered the night before at like 3am, I grabbed my outfit (also pre-planned), took my hair out of curling rods and rushed to Lincoln Center.

I was almost half-conscious when I settled into the front row, with my makeup hurriedly down on the subway train ride over. Mess!

But it was more than worth it when they announced the judges, and surprise, Kerry Washington was in the building! If you told me a week ago, Olivia Pope and I would be at the same show — and would get a second to chat (like at BET Awards!) I wouldn’t have believed you.

Who needs sleep when you can hang with Kerry Washington and Heidi Klum?!

Luckily, I looked as fashionable as possible around the “Project Runway” judges aka my new fashion BFFs.

I wore a Rachel Roy Piece-It-Together dress from Rent The Runway, which looks like a mosaic, paired with my navy and white striped ALDO pumps and a red lip.
