Glamazons,
One of the best parts of my job is being able to shop til I literally drop at high-end designer collaborations with mass retailers. You all know I save up every penny for them and last night’s Prabal Gurung for Target event was no different.
Before we even get to the shopping, when I walked in, it felt like I was at one of the carnivals I grew up visiting. And I looove carnivals! A literal empty space at one of the piers along the Hudson River was decorated to resemble a carnival. There were games, people on stilts giving out cotton candy, photo booths, trucks with real food (yes, some fashion people eat!) including empanadas and dumplings (I had both, lol!) and even a movie theater which played the Prabal Gurung x Target film “Love” back-to-back.
How amazing!
Except this carnival had bars (with the most handsome bartenders!), a NeYo concert and incredible clothes. My kind of party!
Immediately, I got on line to shop in the store in the back of the venue hoping that they had my size left. And they did!
I picked up almost everything I wished for except the black and white wedges (I had to save. Suze Orman would be proud) and the peplum top in Floral Crush print (the fit was ennh).
I tried on the dress with full skirt in Floral Crush print and loved. I went a size up and got a 6 which fit a bit roomy but lord knows the 4 would not have zipped up.
Same goes for the sweatshirt in First Date print, which I am wearing this weekend (already obsessed!). The small was a bit too tight so I got it in a medium.
Funny story, it was sold out so I literally followed a sales rep and grabbed both sizes (the last ones left). People were eyeing it in my arms hungrily like animals about to pounce on their prey in the jungle — I kid you not. So glad I was able to snag one!
I was able to get both pairs of shoes I loved: the neon ankle strap sandals in Sulfur Spring (I’m wearing them as I type with my pajamas lol) and the printed pumps.
The sales guy informed me “the shoes run big” and they sure do. I got the sandals in a 7 (I’m normally 7.5/8) and the pumps in a 7.5 for the perfect fit.
After shopping til I dropped, I enjoyed NeYo‘s performance of hits like that Pitbull song “Give Me Everything” and “Sexy Love.” Love those songs!
And I got to hang out with some of my besties like Chris Law of FresherThanChris.com. Check out his site for all things fresh for menswear.
My favorite part of the night, besides my neon shoes, was seeing the film for Prabal‘s collection for Target. The collection tells the story of a budding relationship from the first date to meeting the parents. Kind of cool as Valentine’s Day is approaching and you guys know I’m in a lovey dovey kind of mood these days (smile).
Here are more pics from the event including star spottings of Adrienne Bailon and Rashida Jones:
So what do you think of my purchases? Check out the entire collection here.
What are you getting when it hits stores February 10th?
Kisses,
Glamazon Jessica
Love this post! I hope I can snag everything I want when the items become available on the 10th. That sweatshirt and neon sandals…I can already see it paired with black skinnies. Glad to know the shoes run big.
