My favorite set of twins, To-Tam and To-Nya of SACHIKA, know how to put on an entertaining show for fashion lovers! This Tuesday, I attended their Spring 2012 Show at the Metropolitan Pavilion hosted by Elle Magazine featuring The Mermaid Paradise Collection: Dance With the Ocean.
Sponsored by Stoli, VuMee, Gwyneth Shoes, Poparazzi Collection, BeautiControl and more, the event was one to remember—and buzzing with reality television stars.
Jennifer Williams, Derek J, Ms. Jay, NeNe Leakes, Mashonda and Tionna Smalls were in attendance, just to name a few. I even spotted Julissa Bermudez again looking fab after seeing her on Monday at the Bebe Spring 2012 Show. It was a great crowd.
The show started off with an African opening dance performed by Team Ohhh Dance. Check out a pic below:
Pretty cool, right? Here’s the scoop on the collection:
Inspiration: The Mermaid Paradise collection was inspired by the island of SACHIKA where radiant mermaids swim to the shore at night and come to life. A few of the designs were inspired by Stoli Vodka flavors, so there are several vibrant colors.
Key Looks: Tons of sequins, nudes and mermaid-inspired prints on form-fitting dresses, suits and evening gowns. The shoes brought contrast to the ensembles by being just as vibrant as the gowns. LOVED every second of it.
Who I Could See Wearing the Look: Jessica Alba, Angela Simmons or Garcelle Beauvais would do damage on the red carpet of any award show in one of these pieces, don’t you think?
To close out the show, singer Wynter Gordon serenaded the audience with her song, “Dirty Talk.” Her voice is truly heaven sent! It was a great end to a glamazing show!
