New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 Trend Report #NYFW

Glamazons, New York Fashion Week has come to an end. It was fun bringing you all the behind the scenes coverage and show reviews. Not to brag, but apparently the Glamazons did a great job in doing so because this blog was named one of the top five black blogs to follow for New York Fashion Week coverage by BlackWeb 2.0.

And the coverage continues with an in-depth trend break down. I mean in-depth. I scoured to find 13 trends that you can expect to see next Spring and Summer.

Are you ready?

Day-Glow Colors

I’m excited for all the bright color combos designers sent down the runways but if your style is more subtle the next trend could be more your speed.

Skittle Color Combos

A lot tamer than Day-Glo neons, are the subtle Skittles colored combos that we can expect to see. Expect super saturated colors like the next trend.

Coral, Coral

If this one of Fall 2011’s it colors is red, expect to see red’s warmer cousin coral a lot next year. Lucky us, the color is super flattering.

Mellow Yellow

We spotted all sorts of variations of the color yellow on the runway from mustard to pale, pastel yellow. So there is bound to be one that works for you.

Be A Mute

A breath of fresh air among all the brights and prints are the muted color palettes. You forget how sophisticated muted neutrals are but this Spring you might want to keep that in mind.

Florals… For Spring

How original, we know. But these florals aren’t the usual. This Spring, they will be super bold and animated. Nothing original about this print.

Board Shorts

The hemlines are dropping drastically when it comes to the shorts. Daisy dukes are being replaced with a more work friendlier board short that came be dressed up or down.

Stripes

While we normally can expect nautical stripes to be huge for warmer months, the trend as undergone a face life and came back bolder and edgier with cool color combinations and whatnot.

Sexy Cutouts

It was hard to ignore the little peeks of skin that we were privy too during our favorite runways shows. Not that I mind, I can’t wait to incorporate this into my look.

Leather

Whether used as an accent on a skirt like we saw at Altuzzara, a jacket or cute leather dress, there is no denying that this trend is one to wear next Spring.

Anorak

This season, a lot of designers played with incoporating sportswear into their collections and one way was with the anorak. Don’t you love how versatile this jacket is?

Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits are sticking around until Spring hits, and I can’t say I mind. This look is a lot of fun and can be work several different ways.

Leopard!

Considering that I live for any and everything leopard, this excites me to no end. I love this trend, one typically found in colder months is following us into the Spring.

Whew, wee! Glamazons, what are you loving? What trend are you leaving alone? Let me know!

Stay Stylish,

Glamazon Channing
