Being Mary Jane Fashion Recap: Michael Kors Spring 2013 Cut-Out Black Dress

I love “Being Mary Jane” as much as the next person but watching her unravel last night was not the best experience. I won’t give too much away in case you haven’t seen it but the episode saw Mary Jane‘s poor relationship decisions come to a head, thanks to a night of binge drinking and listening to bad advice from friends.

Yes, this powerful, successful woman came undone at the seams, similar to a teenage girl who wishes she could undo that drunk text to her ex. Whew! Here’s hoping Season 2 (which is happening, I hear through the grapevine!) offers her a fresh start to get her love life in order, and actually learn from her mistakes in the inaugural season.

Of course, as we learned last episode when she argued with Andre in Givenchy, Mary Jane makes her mistakes in high fashion. This episode, she argued with her friend about a man (a no-no!) in a Michael Kors cut-out black dress:

The black crêpe wool dress has a high neckline, triangle cutouts on the bodice and sides as well as an open back.

I’ve obsessed over this number since Gwyneth Paltrow wore it in October 2012. That’s a long time to love a garment, right?

It looked gorg on Mary Jane (as most clothes do) and hopefully, she can put it on next season with some lashes and red lips, head out on the town and go get her a kind, unattached man who is half as fine as David or Andre.
