New York Fashion Week: Fall 2011 Trend Report

Hey Glamazons!

Now that the dust has settled and our feet are no longer throbbing from running around the city in heels, we can bring you the scoop from New York Fashion Week! We sorted through all of the trends that pumped down the Fall 2011 runways and have rounded up the ones that we expect to see all over come fall.

Sound off about our picks below. Do you love these trends or do they get a nay from you?

The Glamazon and Her Technicolor Prints

It seemed like there was a bold print on every runway! Everywhere we looked bold shapes, loud colors and digital prints took centerstage. Jill Stuart, Nicole Miller, Mara Hoffman and Rag & Bone all want us to look like a virtual playground.

Maximize Your Wardrobe

Well this is sort of refreshing. After seasons and seasons of mini skirts, the hemlines are dropping dramatically– to the floor! There isn’t anything frumpy about maxi length skirts and dresses either as evidenced by Rebecca Minkoff, Peter Som, Tracy Reese and LAMB.

Coat Yourself in Something Luxurious

The coats! Oh, the coats! What better way to stay warm while running between shows in freezing New York City weather. Norma Kamali, Issac Mizrahi, Ralph Lauren and Douglas Hannant gave plenty of fancy options for Glamazons to choose from next Fall. Well, fine, if you insist.

Be a Caped Crusader

Are we the only ones that are happy capes will be around for another season? And we have Joanna Mastroianni, Michelle Smith, Zang Toi, and DKNY to thank for that!

Sheer Genius

This fall will sheer-ly (hehe..) be all about sheer fabrics. The sheer look is so feminine and romantic when peeking out from a gorgeous coat or paired with a maxi skirt. For that we have to say that BCBG Max Azria, Elie Tahari, Chado Ralph Rucci and Diane von Furstenburg are sheer geniuses.

So Glamazons, are any of these trends something you think you’ll try? Which one are you looking forward to wearing next Fall?

xoxo,

Channing
