2011 Couture Trend Report: What We Can Expect To See In Evening Wear

Paris Couture Week is over with, and we’ve seen it all: the good and the bad. Now that we’ve had time to digest everything, its time to predict what we can expect to see in this Fall’s eveningwear trends. Let me say, that I am excited to get dressed up and incorporate the following trends into my evening wear– not that you ever need a reason.

Kooky Fascinators

I’m not sure if we have Kate Middleton and Serena Williams to thank for this, but a lot of designers like Armani Prive, Iris Van Herpen, and Christian Dior sent models down the runway topped off in fancy fascinators.

Yellow

In addition to cobalt blue and red being hot colors for Fall 2011, yellow is also going to everywhere including eveningwear thanks to Maison Rabih Kayrouz, Alexis Mabille and Adeline Andre.

Feathers

If I was Kanye West, I would think that I inspired Alexis Mabille, Giambattista Valli and Valentino’s pieces with feathers on them. As soon as I saw these pieces, I thought of Kanye’s Runaway video. Look at those pictures and tell me you didn’t do the same thing.

Ruffles

Julien Fournie, Chanel and Stephane Rolland are ruffle-crazy, adding them to most of the clothing sent down the runway.

Sheer

Designers like Chanel, Christophe Josse and Valentino are sheer geniuses for adding peeks of skin on the clothing sent down the catwalk, making us wish we had some sort of fancy dress party to attend.

Do you like any of these trends? Would you wear them? Did I forget something? Let me know, Glamazons!

Stay Stylish,

Glamazon Channing
