It’s no surprise that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s children are creative. While Jaden Smith is trying his hand at designing and rapping and singing, Willow Smith is considered something of a style icon. And years ago, she solidified that status while turning heads on the orange carpet in Converse Sneaker Pants.
The fashion darling pushed the envelope in a pair of pink custom Converse Extension I sneaker pants, a striped shirt, white jacket and matching sunglasses at the Kids Choice Awards. Her look is pink with white laces extending from the top of the shoe to the waist of her pants. With a statement piece like this, Willow kept the rest of her outfit simple, accessorizing with just wardrobe basics and a cool attitude.
The pants don’t look completely wearable (i.e. they seem like they are uncomfortable to get on) but the concept is super cool. They’re designed for Converse by Daryl van Wouw. And they’re pretty much a work of art and a statement fashion piece all in one.
While Willow’s exact pants are custom and pretty hard to find, you can get her look with tall converse sneakers and lace-up pants. Worn together, they can still give the same effect as Willow’s standout outfit, especially when the materials and colors match.

Though it doesn’t get much better than Daryl van Wouw’s design, he’s not the only artist to embrace the look. We’ve seen shoe pants (or bants or pantashoes) on the market, from designers like Balenciaga and Tamara Mellon.
The pants portion range from leggings to tights to skinny jeans, and they extend slowly to shoes like boots, pumps, and in Willow Smith’s case, sneakers. It’ll be interesting to see if the trend takes off — and people start wearing shoe-pant hybrids more often.
