Happy New Year, Glamazons! I know I’m a few days late on these well wishes, but this is the first time I’ve addressed you since the new year arrived and it just wouldn’t feel right not to wish you a fab 2012! My new year started off on a light, but super-sexy and sophisticated note. One of the main contributions to this elevated vibe was because I’ve been wearing Twirl by Kate Spade New York for the past few days. I’m totally stepping up my beauty game this year, and decided to start with a fresh, new scent! (SN: Every girl should have fashion and beauty resolutions, and if you don’t create some!)
If you know anything about Kate Spade’s fashion empire, then you know it’s a Glamazon’s dream come true with their party-chic shoes, clothes, handbags and accessories. So it should be no surprise that they stuck with the same glamazingness in the fragrance department, too. The perfume Twirl is described as “a party-prepping essential that makes every woman feel flirtatiously, feminine and fun.” (Umm that is exactly how I felt when I dabbed it on, like to a tee.)
This scent is not too harsh, and not too soft. It is the perfect mix of pink watermelon spruced up with blackberry and red currant, enhanced with orange blossom, star jasmine, tiare flower and sweet magnolia then finished with luminous musks and a hint of French macaron. It’s super-feminine minus the uber-floral connotation that is usually seen as “girly.” The bottle is adorable, too, which makes me like it even more!
