The Cool New D.I.Y. Nail Kit You Just Have To Try!

Here's a close up of my finished gel mani! The manicurist at the event created these super cool swirls for me by adding on another shade and swirling it with the main nail shade (purple) using the wooden stick in the kit while the nail was still wet. GENIUS! OH and did I mention that this manicure lasted for 2 weeks?!

Ok, this is quite possibly the best thing to hit the do-it-yourself nail scene since nail polish! (Alright, maybe that’s a little bit of an exaggeration, but the product I’m about to tell you about really is some kind of amazing so I just wanted to make sure that I conveyed that point to you.)

Here's what you get in the Starter Kit. As you can see, it even comes complete with a Pro 3060 LED Lamp. Cool, right!?

I’m talking about none other than this new at-home gel manicure system called SensatioNail! (Yes, you read that sentence correctly: a gel manicure system that you can do yourself. AMAZE.) I was having a particularly dreary morning because I was super tired and struggling to finish up a freelance assignment when I received an e-mail from the amazing Alexis of Lippe Taylor asking me if I wanted to come by and get my nails done. My response was to throw on my coat, grab my purse and reply “WHERE?!” on my way out the door hahaha. When I got there to the Bryant Park Hotel, I was greeted by the super friendly SensatioNail folks who whisked me over to a table to show me how the gel manicure system worked.

The SensatioNail Starter Kit ($50) comes complete with all of the tools that you need so you don’t have to buy anything extra PLUS it’s enough to give you 10 gel manicures. So, if you do the math (which I won’t even attempt to do because I suck at anything that involves numbers) you’ll find that this is an awesome bargain for beautyinistas on a budget. All of the application directions that you need come in the package and it’s broken down super easy so for those of you that might freak out over do-it-yourself kits there’s no need to do so with this. The starter kit comes with one nail shade in either Scarlett Red and Raspberry and there are also 12 more shades in the line just in case you want to pick a different shade.

Here's what the package looks like at the stores so you'll know what to look for when you go to scoop it next month. (The nail pictured on the box here is painted in Scarlet Red.)

The SensatioNail Starter Kit will be available for purchase January 2012 at Walmart and select CVS stores. What do you think, Glamazons? Who plans on testing this out?!

xoxo

I can find no instructions on how to take your polish off and change the color. Do you remove it all and start from scratch, or just add the color and cure? What do you use to remove the first coat when you want a different color on?
