Glamazons,
Imagine the pure joy and happiness on my face when I realized you could wear sequins for day. I relish any opportunity to wear them, but I have to be honest: it got boring to only sparkle when I’m going to the club or getting dressed up for New Year’s Eve. Why not add a little glamour to your everyday wardrobe? On a Wednesday? For no reason? That’s when you need it the most!
Well, taking my cue from my fave street style folks, I decided to pair my beloved sequin skirt (also worn here) with a casual, loose-fitting gray top. I added in a bright coat, a bold necklace and leopard pumps, and had the perfect daytime look. You can even ditch the necklace and throw on ballet flats, if you really want to dress down. I opted for only one sequin piece and built my outfit around that. Head-to-toe sequins can work (sometimes…) for a party but for day, you have to sparkle in moderation. The key is to mix casual and dressy elements for a look that lands somewhere in the middle.
Speaking of somewhere in the middle, we shot this in the center of a huge crowd of tourists swarming around the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. I have to admit despite living in NYC for years (and working literally down the street), I had never been. Don’t judge me! Too many people, too cold, too busy, yadda yadda yadda. But I had to see it atleast once so I decided to go last weekend. The crowds immediately made me regret my decision, lol. But when I crossed the street and saw the tree’s gleaming, flashing lights, I finally understood why people make such a big deal about it: it really is beautiful. I won’t be back for at least another two years though. Everything in moderation.
Kisses,
Glamazon Jessica
