One of the best parts about New York Fashion Week is getting to chat with some of my favorite Glamazons on the front row. Especially when said star has an infectious personality and surprises you with how fun and down-to-earth they are.
That was totally the case when I ran into supermodel Selita Ebanks front row at Badgley Mischka. From Baby Kimye to her favorite food indulgence, she spilled it all while looking flawless in a fitted Badgley Mischka dress.

Glamazon Jessica: The topic on everyone’s mind: Baby Kimye! Do you think he or she will inherit Kanye’s style?
Selita Ebanks: Oh Kanye will have that kid in Margiela and all that. It’s going to be the best-dressed kid in the world. I think he’ll be great at parenting.
GJ: How do you think Kim will be as a mother?
SE: Kim will be amazing as a mom! Their family is huge so the baby will grow up with amazing cousins and aunties to spoil them.
GJ: Will you babysit?
SE: Ooo, I don’t know. I have enough cousins of my own. (laughs)
GJ: What fashion trends are you loving right now?
SE: I’m obsessed with mixing prints. Not everyone can do it but Solange Knowles is my fashion icon. She’s my muse. Everything about her is amazing. I love that she’s able to be fearless in mixing print. She keeps her accessories simple and adds a pop of color.
GJ: Which designers are you into right now?
SE: Obviously, Badgley!
GJ: What about Badgley Mischka makes you love them so?
SE: Badgley Mischka designs amazing pieces for women that accentuates their curves but it’s still sensual and elegant. They make clothing that makes her feel glamorous and fabulous. It reminds me of old hollywood but still very modern.
GJ: What’s the best fashion advice you’ve ever gotten?
SE: That less is more though I don’t always follow it. I pile on the accessories, chile.
GJ: Are you still designing swim?
SE: Well, I’ve put a pause on my swimwear collection just because i want to learn more about actual designing. It’s not something to take lightly. And I really just did it for “Rip The Runway.”
GJ: Any fashion week parties that you loved?
SE: I haven’t been to any parties because I’m so tired at the end of the day.
GJ: Ugh, I can relate. And then there was that snowstorm.
SE: Honey, I wore my heels in the snowstorm. (laughs)
GJ: Any indulgences you enjoy to decompress after Fashion Week?
SE: Chocolate cake. I think every girl deserves chocolate cake and wine.
I know that’s right, Selita! And how amazing is it that she kept her heels on during the snowstorm? Disclosure: I had to bring out my sneaker wedges during Nemo (thank God for them) but I definitely pulled a Selita and switched into my heels to strut into Lincoln Center. LOL!
