I remember always looking forward to back-to-school shopping with my parents. As a fashion-loving Glamazon since a young age, I loved picking up all the latest trends and going back to school with a completely new-and-improved look! Now that I’m on the other side of the equation as a GodMom, I love giving my goddaughter Naomi that same experience. But I’ve learned it isn’t easy!
Naomi is developing her own sense of style so the outfits I used to pick out for her — without her input — will no longer do. She wants fashion that reflects her individuality and shows off her unique fashion sense.
She loves feminine pieces including embellished shirts, frilly skirts and headbands that adorn her natural hair. She also loves to edge up her look a bit with high top sneakers and funky socks (she’s MUCH cooler than I was at her age…LOL).
I love watching her style evolve as she gets older so it’s awesome that Sears offers unique clothing options so that every girl finds a look that feels authentic to her. They take it one step further with the hashtag, #BeYou, on social media that encourages users to feel comfortable in their own skin — so important for our young girls!
Along with finding items that fit Naomi‘s evolving sense of style, another challenge we face shopping is her growth spurts! My sweet little god baby that I used to be able to pick up with one arm is getting taller and taller by the second — she’s well on her way to towering over me (not hard…I’m 5’2″!). Since she’s growing so fast, it’s imperative that she tries on every single thing we buy to make sure it fits.
Using Sears Reserve It service, I was able to online shop with Naomi, put the pieces she picked out on hold and then reserve them to try them on in store. It was a win-win for me: I skipped the crowds, got the convenience of online shopping AND was able to have Naomi try her clothes on to make sure they fit. Best of both worlds!
Here’s how it works:
-Sign up for Shop Your Way, log in to your account and select your local Sears store.
-The items will automatically update to only include pieces that are in stock (SO convenient!).
-Choose the product, style and size you want. Then, select “Reserve in Store.”
-You’ll receive an email notification when your products are ready to try on.
-After receiving your email, you have 48 hours to go to Sears, pick up the items at the Reserve It rack (located in the women’s apparel section) and try them on in-store. Purchase the pieces that work!

“Reserve It” is only one of Sears convenient shopping options. You can also enjoy Free Store Pick-up and In-Vehicle Pick-Up where Shop Your Way members can shop from home, buy their fave pieces online and pick up their purchases at a local Sears or Kmart in stores — even without leaving the car!
I’m so glad Naomi got to try on her clothes through the Reserve It program and pick the pieces she loved.
Once we picked up her picks from the “Reserve It” rack, it was time to try them on!
Naomi loved her CRB Girl pink pants but they were a bit short since she’s growing so fast!
The next size up fit perfectly (and she’ll grow into them) though we had to convince her to get them in a bigger size!
She loved her CRB Girl top that came with this cute fringe necklace.
She was crazy about this cute CRB Girl hoodie.
The sweatpants we reserved were too big.
We went a size down and she was pleased!
Naomi ended up deciding on a striped shirt, pink jeans, a “Cool” Graphic hoodie and embellished sweatpants by CRB Girl. She loves jeans so we reserved a couple pairs of skinny and bootcut options (they had everything from flared to high-waisted!). And she fell in love with all the colorful tops and bold accessories.
