It’s not every day that you get called to a cocktail party in the middle of Fashion Week. Alright, that’s a slight lie: the cocktail parties run rampant during this time. However, it’s not every day that you get called to a beauty cocktail party at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week, so when you receive the invite you know that you just have to go!
Luckily, this one was definitely included news that’s worth writing about: designer Mara Hoffman has teamed up with Skintimate to design four limited edition cans! I mean, who knew that shaving cream cans could look so attractive?! Seriously, not only will these cans look fab in your bathroom boudoir, but they also contain some of the yummiest smelling shaving cream that you ever did smell. Also, isn’t Mara (pictured above) like the cutest pregnant woman ever?! When I’m older and pregnant I want to walk around in dresses and look that zen.
The Skintimate Limited Edition designer cans are available in four varieties: Flirty Mango; Strawberry Tangerine Twist; Raspberry Rain; and Skin Therapy in Dry Skin.
Each contains skin softening ingredients such as olive butter, Vitamin E and Pro-Vitamin B5 (except for the Dry Skin one that’s more like a lotionized gel with skin softening ingredients). All are available in both 7 oz and 8.4 oz cans, retail for $2.79 and hits a drug store shelf near you in May 2011.
In addition to these newly designed cans, Skintimate Studios also announced their search for the next generation of female fashion designers! From February 9th to March 23rd, aspiring designers can visit skintimatestudios.com and enter for a chance to win a two week internship with Hoffman and her team as they prepare for the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Show. Contestants will upload a female dress design that conveys the theme “Ready For Everything.” In addition, you’ll have to answer two questions: explain the details of your design and why it represents the theme “Ready For Everything,” and share the unique qualities you possess bring to the fashion world. Both designs and essays will be judged for both versatility and creative expression.
Sounds awesome, right? What do you think of the designs, Glamazons? Will you be purchasing them once they hit stores?
