Growing up, I was always super skinny and could eat anything I wanted (read: burgers and steak!) without worrying about gaining a pound. Now that I’m grown (Beyoncé voice), I can finally retain weight. And while I was super thrilled about weight gain in certain places (cleavage, I’ve been waiting my whole life for you), I do want to be healthy and fit. That’s where hot yoga comes in.
Luckily, there’s a hot yoga studio down the street from my apartment and I’ve been going twice during the weekdays (combined with trips to the gym on Saturday and Sunday).
I love yoga for three reasons:
1- It relaxes me.
I’m constantly, endlessly stressed from my job and just the frenetic pace of the city so I love a #namaste moment.
2- It appeals to my inner frustrated ballerina.
I danced for thirteen years so stretching and hitting poses feels natural to me, and satisfies my craving for the ballet classes of my teenage years.
3- It keeps me at a healthy size.
Since I take hot yoga classes, I feel like I’m able to maintain my weight, not gaining or losing which is ideal for me.
I especially love yoga on the beach, but a studio in New York works well too.

What do you use to motivate you to work out, Glamazons? Have you tried yoga?

What has your experience been like?
