The weather is finally starting to feel like Fall and as we creep closer to the end of October, we might find ourselves needing one very important thing: a coat. Since you have to have one, you might as well make a statement with it.
When choosing a coat, I have a few suggestions to help you find your perfect fit.
-If you have a curvier shape with a small waist, accentuate it with a coat that ties in the waist. Crop jackets also work well for hourglass shapes.
-If you carry your weight in your hips or thighs, choose a coat with detailing on the collar or details that draw the eye upward like lapels or structured shoulders.
-If you have smaller legs but a heavier top half, coats that are fuller at the bottom will balance out your figure. Also say no to double-breasted coats.
-If you carry your weight in the middle, don’t add volume to your tummy. Try to find coats with v-necks or trench styles that will elongate your frame.
-For my girls with boyish shapes, look for volume to add curves like A-line and flared coats.
