Glamazon Guide: 10 Pieces Every College Student Needs To Pack

Though it’s been 2 years (sheesh, where has the time gone?!) since I was trekking around a college campus, there are a few stylish lessons that I wish I would have known when I was a freshman –or heck, a senior. Like, there are specific pieces that every college girl can benefit having in her closet.

I’m not sure about every college dorm’s closet space, but I do know that in my dorm, space was scarce until I moved off campus. So in an attempt to help you streamline your wardrobe, here are the versatile fashion pieces that are must-haves when it comes to packing for the new school year.

So are you ready? Good! Check out our top 10:

1. A Pair of Flattering Jeans

Now whether they are skinny, flared or wide leg is up to you but choose a shade and style that is flattering to your figure as well as a pair that can work for class and weekends shaking your booty with the girls.

2. A Pair of Leggings

Like a pair of flattering jeans, leggings can be extremely versatile. As long your butt is covered (I’m serious, Glamazons. That’s never a good look) you can be comfy and cute without throwing on a pair of sweatpants to go out in public.

3. The Classic White Shirt

This really shouldn’t need an explanation. The possibilities are endless and can be paired with the rest of the items on this list and you look chic. Totes.

4. A Trench Coat

This is really a piece that women of all ages can benefit from having in their closets. You can wear a trench coat with just about anything and choose it in a fun color for an updated twist.

5. Ballet Flats

You can wear ballet flats to class, your internship or a cute lunch date with your crush. These adorable shoes will take you many, many places.

6. Sunglasses

Not only will they save you from showing face hungover or with huge bags under your eyes but sunglasses, especially a classic pair of Raybans or aviators, just make every outfit better.

7. LBD

It would be helpful to pack a dress that you know you love and feel comfortable in to wear for interviews or job fairs so you don’t have to stress at the last minute to find something. And you can make it look brand new every time you wear it with fun accessories.

8. Scarves

My love for scarves magnified during my time in college. In winter, scarves ensured that no cold air would escape under my jacket. In the spring/fall, I could go sans jacket and the scarf came in handy for sudden breezes or air conditioned lecture halls. Win!

9. Blazer

This is another piece that gives you tons of bang for your buck—and you can dress this up and down. It will look as good with leggings as it does with your LBD.

10. Leather Jacket

Aka Leatherette. Pair with leggings, dresses, skirts, jeans, ballet flats or your white tee, the options are endless. And of course, top it off with a pair of sunnies.
