There are SO many beauty subscription boxes on the market that it’s hard to tell which one is actually worth the investment. In my opinion, the curator makes all the difference. And I always look for curators with years of experience and connections in the beauty industry.

I got to check out the first Essence BeautyBox firsthand at their Beauty Bungalow in New Orleans during Essence Festival weekend.
The first box was stacked with makeup cases, Le Specs sunglasses, Frends headphones and more.
Every guest had the chance to pick from a grab bag and win one of the items from the beauty box based on the number they chose. You guys know I’ve been swooning over the Frends headphones for months (they’re in my Coveted list on the left sidebar) and I called on all the Fashion Gods so I’d pick them…and I did! Amazing! I picked them up in gold.
There were also illustrations and manicures at the event.
Fun times! If the preview I went to is any indication, the Essence BeautyBox is going to be one of my fave subscription boxes to look forward to every month.
