Glamazons,
As fashion editors and industry insiders move on to Milan for Fashion Week, I’m still drooling over the shows that were presented in London! One of my absolute favorites was Burberry Prorsum‘s Spring 2014 collection.
Christopher Bailey presented his collection on a rose-covered runway with a front row that included Olivia Palermo, Naomie Harris, Anna Wintour, and One Direction’s’ Harry Styles (hey Harry =)!).
The overwhelming amount of flowers set the scene for a romantic and fresh collection.
Inspiration:
English Rose. After giving us a fall collection full of hard edges, Christopher Bailey switched things up for Spring and ditched the buckles, epaulets, and strong collars that have become synonymous with Burberry. This collection was full of lace, cashmere and pretty pastels. Bailey told WWD after the show he was on a quest for softness. “I wanted it to be very gentle, very tender.” Mission accomplished.
Key Pieces:
Polka dot blouses, striped pencil skirts, oversized cashmere jackets, wrap coat dress, brooch adorned capes, embroidered pencil skirts, lace coat dresses, cashmere sweaters, soft suede coats, front split skirts, and PVC capes with crystal embellishments.
Who I Can See Wearing the Collection:
Naomie Harris, Victoria Beckham, Sienna Miller, Rosie Huntington-Whitley, Kerry Washington, Freida Pinto, and Olivia Palermo.
This collection is so delightedly feminine! What a fresh approach for Burberry. Glamazons, do you love the collection? Tell us your favorite looks in the comments.
Fashionably yours,
Glamazon Jamiese
