Glamazons, if there’s only one beauty product that you need in your makeup bag for the fall season it is this: the Bobbi Brown Tortoise Shell Eye Palette ($60) in either Sand or Bronze. The colors are absolutely stunning and they are all that a woman needs to create the perfect eye look for day or night. Right before I went to the ESSENCE Music Festival last month, I received the Bronze palette in the mail and (because I’m a sucker for anything bronze) I threw it in my makeup bag for testing.
It definitely did not disappoint. The collection, called Tortoise Shell, was created by Bobbi as the perfect complement to bold eyeglasses. (Because eyeglasses are totally considered a fashion accessory nowadays.) I however hate wearing my glasses (ugh) so I decided to test out the shades without them. (I know, I know that kind of defeats the purpose, but I figured that Bobbi would understand my need for creative freedom.) But, on to the collection: the two palettes features 8 shades (four on top and four on bottom) in both shimmery and matte shades. There’s also a huge mirror (which I love! there’s nothing worse than an eyeshadow palette with a crappy mirror) making it super easy to apply on-the-go.
OH and speaking of on-the-go, the Fall 2011 collection also features a mini brush set ($55) in the most adorable brown case that’s perfect to throw in your bag. It includes four brushes: angle eye shadow, eye sweep, blush and ultra fine eye liner. Each brush contains pretty gold accents so you look like real class act when you take it out and start using it.
And I know this post is supposed to be all about the Bronze Tortoise Shell Eye Palette, but I might as well mention that there’s another amazing part of this collection that’s the High Shimmer Lip Gloss in Bare Sparkle ($22). It’s like the perfect lip gloss with the perfect amount of sparkle and a peppermint twist. (Yes, it has a minty feel to it once you apply.)
But don’t take my word for it, Glamazons! Go test it out for yourselves since it’s now available for purchase. Side note: Yes, I know the collection is kind of pricey but trust me when I say that it the eyeshadow palette alone will be all you need to create amazing looks.
