It’s fitting that I end the year with another public speaking opportunity since it was foremost on my vision board as one of the fears I wanted to conquer in 2014. I took a big leap appearing on The Meredith Vieira Show and though I was scared out of my mind (to the point I told NO ONE about the opportunity until it was over), everyone said I did great. Sure there were things I could improve, but I wasn’t horrible and that’s progress…and also motivation for next time.
Well, next time is here! I participated in my first “talking head” segment over at BET‘s new fashion and beauty site, B*Real. I joined blogger boos (Ty of Gorgeous in Grey, Kela of Kela’s Kloset, Claire of Fashion Bomb Daily, Monroe of Fashion Steele and more!) to chat about the year’s best-dressed couple, best baby bump style, fiercest wedding style and more! And stay tuned for a huge vision board post for 2015. It’s amazing what we can accomplish once we start to actually believe it’s possible. I never imagined a girl who was too scared to read her book report in front of the class in elementary school would one day be speaking on daytime talk shows and on the website of a major television network. But that’s just one of the things that can happen when you don’t let fear deter you from your dreams, however far-fetched they may seem at the time. I hope you’re feeling inspired to conquer your fears and boldly pursue whatever’s on your heart for 2015.
