Glamazons,
Remember we spilled the tea that Azealia Banks was tapped to appear at MAC Cosmetics Soho, swinging her long wavy weave in circle formation during an exclusive performance at Fashion’s Night Out? Well, apparently, that entire shindig is to celebrate the launch of her limited-edition lipstick for MAC. SQUEAL!
The “Van Vogue” rapper, who also appears in a campaign for Alexander Wang, is fronting the lipstick, “Yung Rapunxel,” which MAC describes as “a deep plum, cream Lipstick with an amplified, semi-matte finish.”
It’s named after Azealia‘s floor-length weave alter ego and it captures her gritty, diva, fashion-y vibe to a tee.
It will be available at MAC stores in the US only from September 6, 2012 through September 20, 2012 and online at maccosmetics.com a day early on September 5th.
If you can’t hit the MAC store to see Azealia‘s performance live, watch it on MAC’s Facebook page on September 7th at 1pm EST.
What do you think of Azealia‘s new lipstick, Glamazons?
Kisses,
Glamazon Jessica
I'm really happy Azealia is achieving so many nods after all the slights and digs she has received from the hip hop community. I'm a little sadden to see the 'floor length' hair comment in the post though. I'd like to see more of the urban media make less digs about black women's hair (purchased/real/natural or otherwise).
Hi Nik! I am so happy for Azealia too. I actually didn’t mean that comment as an insult. If you are familiar with this site, I love weave, wear it proudly and enjoy glorious, floor-sweeping lengths. I especially like when Azealia whips it around in her videos. How fun! I even wrote a post explaining why I love weave and wear it without shame. This is a place online where glam hairstyles on ALL women (not only black) are celebrated. Thanks so much for reading! xxoo
