Glamazons,
The theme for Alexander Wang‘s Fall 2014 show at New York Fashion Week was survival of the fittest as fashion enthusiasts braved the snowstorm and trekked to the new Brooklyn location to witness military-style coats and puffer jackets with splashes of neon make their way down the runway.
Set to the beat of natural sounds, including a rain and thunderstorm, models Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, and Joan Smalls graced the catwalk.
Here are the deets on Alexander Wang’s Fall 2014 Collection:
Inspiration: Perfect for battling that pesky polar vortex that is sweeping the nation, Alexander Wang prepared us for “extreme conditions and survival.” Androgynous side-swept combovers with bleached eyebrows (courtesy of makeup artist Diane Kendal of NARS Cosmetics) augmented the simplistic, tomboy feel of Wang‘s boxy, textured separates.

Key Pieces: Utilitarian-style structured overcoats characterized by wide shoulders, snap pockets, and geometric shapes. Peek-a-boo leather and wool collars, colorful A-line dresses with visible front zippers, handbags that doubled as water bottles and fanny packs, over-the-knee boots and shin guards. Known for his urban designs, the designer stayed true to form with a dark and occassionally, techno-colored vibe.
Who We Could See Wearing This Collection: Emma Watson, January Jones, Miley Cyrus, Cara Delevingne, Evan Rachel Wood.
I love the pairing of casual elements with over-the-top dramatic layering. Which pieces are you obsessing over from this collection?
Keeping It Fashionable,
Glamazon Briea
