A Day in the Life: Gareth Pugh for Mac Cosmetics Collaboration Cocktail with Genevieve Jones, Patrick McDonald and More

Hey Glamazons!

Anyone else excited about the Gareth Pugh for MAC collection? Gareth Pugh is so futuristic, avante garde and dark that I expect to see some of the coolest, edgy colors from MAC we’ve seen in awhile. Afterall, this is the designer that sent models down his runway with upside down lashes and chain nails (evidence below).

Since I’ve obviously been waiting with baited breath ever since the announcement for the collection launch, I was thrilled to get an invite to the official Gareth Pugh for MAC collaboration cocktail…because obviously the most stylish people in NYC will be there.

And surprise, surprise, they totally were. A crowd of cool bloggers and tastemakers (all young and attractive of course) descended upon the rooftop at the New Museum downtown for the event.

Gorgeous view! Among the beautiful guys and gals there, I spotted Socialite Genevieve Jones and just had to say Hey! As you know, I totally have a Girl Crush on her style and amazing jewelry collection so I was happy to finally meet her.

As you know already if you follow me on Twitter, she was super sweet to me! We chatted about everything from Kanye West (who we both have a slight crush on :) to her outfit, which was head-to-toe vintage. Check out our pic:

Cuteness, right?

The man of the hour, Gareth Pugh, was also in attendance.

He gave the scoop on the new collection to our friends at Fashionista:

On the Versatile Look…

“If I was going to do something with MAC I wanted it to be something special, and quite specific. The collection is very all-encompassing and versatile. It has the scope to go to the extreme with it. You can really play around with it. I’d rather people do that than copy what we’ve done for the ad images.”

On the “Weapon”-like Packaging…

“It’s very heavy. It’s kind of like a weapon. It’s very different to MAC packaging. It’s obviously still MAC, but it’s me and MAC. It’s very luxe, futuristic, and architectural.”

Considering the chain nails and gold-plated eye covers (above) from his runway shows, we wouldn’t expect anything less.

The full-scale collection will launch globally in November. Are you excited for its debut, Glamazons?
