Coat: ASOS | Dress: Issa London via Rent The Runway | Shoes: Old but love these
Glamazons,
I’ve wanted to add color to my hair for the longest! I dyed it for the first time ever when I was in college while I still had a relaxer (bad idea!) and I watched the thick strands I once loved get more damaged and thinner from all the chemical processing. Terrible. Once I went natural, I knew I could finally explore my love of color again and after my big chop, I did just that with a pretty caramel blonde hue. Now, after growing my hair out for some time, I’ve finally went back to the color I loved. And I think I’ll keep it for awhile…or atleast until I get bored again. At first, I went super blonde (more on this later) and it was gorgeous but not me. I’m a little warmer. This feels more like my style. Some things I’ve noticed since dying my hair? It needs wayyyy more moisture. Like tons more than usual. I have more curl definition than I did pre-coloring (does this last? My resident blondie Faith says that lasts about a month). My favorite thing to do right now is to style my hair color with my clothes like I did with this Issa London metallic dress with this fab brown brocade and my ASOS faux fur coat and Aldo leopard pumps I wore to Black Girls Rock. That’s pretty much all I’m going to do this summer!
What do you think of my new color? Stay tuned for a post with the products I used to dye it, and how my natural hair regimen has changed. Any color you’ve been dying to try (no pun intended)? Let’s chat in the comments!
Kisses,
Glamazon Jessica
