8 Things I Want from Altuzarra for Target PLUS The Full Lookbook! #AltuzarraforTarget

Glamazons,

The Altuzarra for Target lookbook is finally here! After the announcement, an appearance on the CFDA Awards red carpet and a first look via The New York Times, we’ve finally got images of every single item in the 50-piece collection, which will hit stores (and be available online at online at Target and Net-a-Porter) September 14th.

From first glance, I have to say this alleviates people’s valid concerns about getting a piece from a masstige collection that everybody owns and everybody will recognize immediately. (SN: Such is the case with my Prabal Gurung for Target sweatshirt and Lanvin for H&M dress but I don’t mind. I just wear it my own unique way!). Anyway, there’s no need for concern about that with this collection: timeless pieces like a trench coat or tuxedo suit don’t scream “I got this from a limited-edition Target line!” They don’t even look like you got them from Target (and certainly not for $89.99 or less). The pieces are so very refined, each crafted with immaculate attention to detail. Joseph Altuzarra is a true genius!

Here’s what I want so far:

1. Sleeveless Dress with Gold Decal on Shoulders and Thigh Slit

This dress is so elegant and sexy. Just look at the lapel neckline, cinched waist and thigh slit! It’s a must-get.

2. Olive Trench Coat with Black Sleeves

This is one of those pieces that don’t scream Target collection. I especially love the oversized collar and flared hem.

3. Black Fur Coat

You know how much I love traipsing around in faux fur. I love this jacket because the black hue is understated but the shaggy fur is still luxe and glamorous. You can really throw it over everything from a gown to boyfriend jeans and pumps.

4. Burgundy Draped Dress with Necktie

Joseph Altuzarra truly understands a woman’s body, and how to compliment it in the most subtle, sophisticated way. Here, the waistline is accentuated, the draping graces a woman’s natural curves and the neckline adds an almost regal flair. In. LOVE!

5. & 6. Black Tuxedo Blazer and Pant

The fit on this tuxedo blazer and pant looks impeccable on the model. I’ve shopped enough masstige collections to know proportions don’t always translate that well on the everyday woman but if you can get it tailored to fit, it would stun at any formal event you wear it to.

7. Black Gown with Sheer Sleeves and Side Slit

Yes, this piece is recognizable (already seen on the red carpet at the CFDA Awards) but I’m still blown away by its simplicity, its beauty and how the fabric is draped effortlessly over the body. It’s more than worth it IMO.

8. Black Thigh-High Boots

Guys, there’s a strap that goes around your thigh on these boots. Like an ankle strap for your leg! Need I say more?!

How brilliant is this collection?! Joseph Altuzarra nailed it. The collection is as sexy and feminine as his eponymous line, and he doesn’t sacrifice one shred of sophistication to hit Target‘s lower price point. It’s one of the most well-tailored and produced masstige lines I’ve seen so far, judging from pictures alone. Can’t wait to see the pieces up close!
