I’ve always loved Sevyn Steeter‘s music (“It Won’t Stop” is a favorite and I LOVE the song “Gone” she wrote for Kelly Rowland) but I didn’t realize how kind and genuine she is until I met her in person.
I got the opportunity to hang with her for her birthday at a dinner at Muriel’s in the French Quarter as a guest of hair brand Beautiful Textures.
Since the dinner was intimate with close friends and family, my #NolaCrawl boos, Christina of LoveBrownSugar and Lexi of Lexi With The Curls, and I got to actually chat with Sevyn and join in her celebration.
It was one of the highlights of the crawl! She is so friendly and thoughtful (literally going out of her way to make us feel welcome!) and she knows how to party.
We enjoyed amazing BBQ shrimp and grits while sipping cocktails provided by Rosa Regale (the most delish sweet red sparkling wine).
But the best part is that we got to mingle with everyone from her Mom (who is beautiful and looks so young!) to her college besties to Tank and Trey Songz.

Tank and Trey Songz both sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Sevyn and they sounded incredible! Who knew we’d be treated to a mini-concert over dinner?!

It’s inspiring to see Sevyn‘s progression in the industry as an artist, a writer and a true talent. On top of that, she has a beautiful spirit and is truly loved by her friends, family, industry peers and fans like me. Just an amazing night! Thank you to Beautiful Textures for having me.
