I hate to say I called it but…when we were all #LupitaforMAC, I knew Lupita Nyong’o had unlimited options on what beauty brand she signed with. During Awards season alone, she wore Lancome, YSL, Dior, NARS, Chanel and YSL to name a few. She could go with anyone (and I’m sure they all pursued her!).
Well, the Oscar-winning beauty has made her choice and it’s Lancome! WWD reports that the “12 Years a Slave” actress will join the ranks of Julia Roberts, Penélope Cruz, Kate Winslet and Lily Collins as a Lancome celebrity ambassador in September.

Here’s why Lupita chose Lancome: “What appealed to me about Lancôme is that they’re not dictating what beauty is. What they do supports something that already is — and that was appealing to me, too. It’s what drew me to them. Hopefully it’s a symbiotic relationship — that I benefit from being associated with them, and they benefit from being associated with me, as well. And for the consumer at large, I think Lancôme has a range of products for every woman, and I think having me will expand people’s understanding of, hopefully, what Lancôme stands for, who Lancôme is for.”
