Here’s What I Got From #PeterPilottoforTarget PLUS Fit Info on The Line!

Glamazons,

Are you excited for Peter Pilotto for Target yet? I know my true Glamazon shoppers have already sifted through the lookbook, came up with a wishlist and checked out our tips for shopping the line. I shopped the editor preview at New York City’s Gotham Hall last night, and I can assure you the collection is just as beautiful in person.

I stood on line a half hour before the event started and was fifth in line when they opened the doors. I made a bee line for the shopping area, where, to my dismay, I learned they weren’t letting you try on clothes. Grr!

I still picked up my fave pieces from this wishlist and tried them on when I got home. The fit was more impressive than most collections, but there are still some things to pay attention to when you shop.

Here’s the tea on Peter Pilotto for Target’s sizing and fit:

I think the strapless dress is one of the most beautiful, vibrant pieces in the collection. I picked it up in a size 6 (my normal size) but found it was way too tight in the chest (the top and waist are pretty snug in general). If you have boobs, you’re going to have to go up a size!

The skirt has a tulle lining which is super amazing because it makes for a great flared shape. And you know I love that!

OK, so the pencil skirts: I think they’re great for a certain body type. For curvier girls, since the skirt’s made of nylon (it’s also comprised of cotton and a bit of spandex), the fabric doesn’t have that much give and doesn’t cling to your curves. I actually bought one skirt (in a size 6) but will return it. Bummer! Love the crop top – I got it in a Medium.

The dress of my dreams was there and fit perfectly in a size 6 (my regular size). It also has a tulle lining and a cinched waist for that adorable feminine silhouette. The purple against the pops of neon green are truly artful. What a dress! I especially like it with the long sleeve neon and blue top layered underneath (as I wore above).

Speaking of the tops, the long-sleeved tops run true to size. I actually got a Large in my top so it fits loosely. Here it is under the dress in green stripe/floral print which I bought in a Medium. As you can see, the dress runs big:

The blouses also run big for a flowy feel. I picked up a Medium and it almost looked too big for me! I’m thinking of getting the sleeveless black, white and neon blouse and the romper online.

I also got the cropped top in a Medium and knit skirt in a 6, which fit a lot better than the pencil skirt:

Love that look!

The event was a blast. I mingled with friends while sipping wine and champagne and eating hors d’oeuvres. So great to catch up with Christian Law of Fresher Than Chris and Geneva of Bravo‘s “Blood, Sweat and Heels”!

The decor was beautiful! The collection’s signature prints flanked the ground:

And Target had a gorgeous display onstage, featuring the logo in moody lighting:

I thoroughly enjoyed the fashion show and spotted one of my fave Glamazons, Grace Bol stomping the runway:

    PRIOR #1: THAT. COLORBLOCKED. BLAZER!

I truly feel for any woman who dares stand between me and that blazer! It’s gonna be a gladiator fight…to the DEATH! lol.

I also want the short sleeve crop top and 1 of the pencil skirts (not sure which one yet). Which skirt pattern did you like best?

Thanks for this breakdown!! I def didn’t realize that was a dress and a top – I thought it was a long-sleeved dress!!! Glad to know I can rock it in warmer weather!! Also what did the price points look like?

Sure thing, love! Yes – the layering is so cool because you can wear it in both seasons now. The prices range from $14.99 to $79.99, but I listed the price for each item in the slideshow (you can click the ‘View Slideshow’ button in this post to see it). Can’t wait to see what you get! x

Hi! Love your blog btw! I was wondering, for the pencil skirts and skirts in general, do you recommend sizing up or going true to size. I’m a 27 waist 38 hip, and I am torn b/w getting a 4 or a 6. Same goes for the romper. Would love your advice with this!

Thanks so much <3 I would recommend sizing up – the pencil skirts don't really accommodate curves but if you go up a size, you can always get the waist taken in at a tailor. I personally say go for the knit 'flippy' skirt which has more stretch. You can get that in your regular size. Hope this helps! :)
