Glamazons,
Sadly, it is finally here. The last day of New York Fashion Week. We have seen it all this week – from glamorous backstage beauty and front row fashion to a gal-pal moment between Lupita Nyong’o and Anna Wintour (possibly discussing her Vogue cover). Yesterday, editors, bloggers, and fashion fanatics alike ventured into another NYC snowstorm as Marc Jacobs proved he was totally worth the chaos, presenting his first collection since leaving Louis Vuitton as Creative Director.
With prop pillows disguised as clouds hanging overhead, models, including Kendall Jenner, walked the runway to the daunting tune “Happy Days are Here Again.” Marc Jacobs chose the song to “sound like a mantra – the kind of thing you might hear at a spa.”
Here are the Deets on Marc Jacobs Fall 2014 Collection:
Inspiration: With a 70s retro yet futuristic vibe, the show took on a quirky, sci-fi theme. The serene and ethereal looks were set off with bleached eyebrows, cropped bobs accessorized with thick fabric headbands, and white tinted eyelids.
Key Pieces: Textured knit separates in neutral hues and earth tones, colorblocked tunics with deep necklines layered over thick leggings, wideleg trousers, long-sleeved sequin and floral dresses, ruffled tops, over-the-knee boots, metallic ankle boots, and sheer tops paired with hooded, fur bomber jackets.
Who We Could See Wearing This Collection: Kate Mara, Nicole Richie, Vanessa Hudgens, Dakota Fanning, Kristen Stewart.
What do you think of this collection, Glamazons? Tell me in the comments!
Keeping It Fashionable,
Glamazon Briea
