A Day In The Life: “Dukes of Melrose” Premiere with Dita von Teese and Cynthia Bailey

Lights, camera, fashion! Style icons of every caliber descended into 583 Park Avenue in New York City on Tuesday night to celebrate the launch of Bravo‘s new TV reality show “Dukes of Melrose.” As soon I walked into the event space, I was greeted by a host of models dressed in rare vintage clothing.

That red number is so fab, it reminds me of the 1950s era. If I could afford it, I promise you I would wear that to the grocery store, it’s just too fly! Right there and then, after seeing that red hot outfit, I knew that I was in for a fun-filled night!

“The Dukes” series premiered on March 5th and centers around Cameron Silver and Christos Garkino owners of Decades, Inc. The two men are business partners and the show follows them around the glitzy Hollywood circles finding timeless vintage clothing. When you have two big personalities, it’s no surprise that the duo occasionally butt heads over their differing business approaches. Christos is the frugal one versus Cameron who spends like it’s going out of style. It’s a bit of drama but with a hilarious and lighthearted twist.

Speaking of stars, I saw a bevy of them last night. Let’s start with one of my favorite Housewives ever. The incomparable Cynthia Bailey!

I spotted the statuesque beauty as soon as she walked in and I made a beeline over to her. We exchanged pleasantries and took a quick snap together. I pretended to play it cool, Glamazons, but inside I was SCREAMING when I saw her.

Listen, Cynthia was/is a model and of course she’s gorgeous but seeing her in person brings it to a whole ‘nother level. She is stunning and slays chicks half her age.

And when you talk of stunning, you have to throw in Dita von Teese‘s name. The burlesque singer was also there to lend her support to the new show and she looks absolutely resplendent. Dressed in all black, she punctuated her look with a beautiful red lip – and her signature Christian Louboutin‘s.

I also got a chance to mingle with her for a few seconds and I can tell you that aside from her beauty, I was taken back by how great she smelled! True story! It was a mix of floral and husk that was so incredibly enchanting. Next time I have audience with her, I will have to ask her what her scent she uses, stay tuned!

The thing that makes some of these fashion fetes so amazing is the ability to shop and party at the same time. Guests at the exclusive party were treated to a trunk show that featured 60% off retail brands such as Prada, Balenciaga, Chanel and more from Decades, Inc. I was definitely drooling over the endless amounts of elegant dresses, blouses, suits and rompers in an assortment of colors.

In addition to the clothing I got carried away by all the chic designer handbags. Yes, while the photographers were in a tizzy over the celebrities, I was in awe of the red carpet ready accessories. What can I say? Fashion moves me. The eye catching bags were deeply discounted and I saw Glamazons of all ages gagging over all the gorgeous hues and textures.

On my way out, I spotted Top Chef judge Padma Lakshmi. Dressed in a burgundy dress and cow print shoes, she looked so spectacular.

After watching two episodes at the soiree, I can tell you that Bravo has perfected the winning formula for a reality show. Start with a ridiculous amount of fashionable clothing, peppered in with some serious dramz and a dash of serious star wattage and voila – you have the channel’s latest series. Hope you enjoyed the premiere as much as I did!
