A Day in The Life: Essence Blogger Breakfast with Lala, Emil Wilbekin and Constance White

What a week I’ve been having already! Insanity! Ok, let’s start at the beginning.

To toast the start of New York Fashion Week, Essence Magazine threw a blogger breakfast inviting some of the top folks in the blogosphere to get to know the new Essence.com.

It was great to attend and chat with some of my editor heroes like Emil Wilbekin, Zandile Blay and of course, editor-in-chief Constance White who I think is taking the beloved magazine to new levels of excellence.

I was so excited to see them face-to-face to thank them for featuring The Glamazons in their 40 Fab Blogger roundup and for including my article in the September 2011 issue.

I wore a Rachel Roy sheath dress, Nine West leopard print heels, my Marc by Marc Jacobs oversized tote and my Glamazon nameplate necklace my amazing sister bought for my birthday. Here’s a pic Blake Von D snapped of my necklace at Fashion’s Night Out:

Overall, I wanted a chic yet comfortable look. What do you think of it?

I also was lucky enough to chat with Lala, who was on hand for the festivities. I gushed over how adorable Kiyan is and how much I love her show (Lala’s Full Court Life, do tell me you’ve been watching!).

Bloggers like Christina Brown of Love Brown Sugar (pictured above), Kristin Booker of Fashion Style Beauty, Felicia Walker-Benson of This That Beauty and Joy Adaeze of Joy Loves Fashion had a blast mingling over mimosas and light breakfast before starting off on our fashion week adventures.
