Glamazons, I’ve found my newest love and her name is Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips, but this relationship started off a little rocky.
As much as I love to pretty much try any beauty product at least once, after many trail-and-error filled sessions of testing similar products that go by different names, I was a little skeptical to put it to the test. I thought that this was just another nail decor gimmick that would be time-consuming and wouldn’t last long. (I have flashbacks to my many failures to create designs on my nails only to get results that never looked like the picture on the box that said getting the look was as easy as 1-2-3.)
Once my fairy godmother of beauty Ferocia told me that she uses the strips, and convinced me that they were easy to apply, I decided to put my fingertips to the test. (Ferocia introduced me to minx nails a couple of years ago when I was her intern at the magazine, and this is totally a purse-friendly way to get the look for less!) While minx nails can cost you $30-$55, but these babies will run you about $10.
The strips come in 23 amazing patterns ranging from a glittery champagne shade to black-and white florals and animal prints. I purchased the gold and black pattern called misbehaved, which pretty much looks like black chain-link fence with a golden background.
It took me about 15 minutes to apply the stickers to my nails, and it probably wouldn’t have taken this long, but I was watching a movie and chatting with friends during this time as well.
The kit comes with 16 nail polish strips that are different sizes that you can fit to each nail, a cuticle stick and a mini file and buffer. Everything that you need really is in this box and the step-by-step directions are practically fool proof. (If I can do this and get results that yield compliments, I’m pretty sure that you can too!)
Check out this video from the Sally Hansen YouTube channel giving a brief overview and quick tutorial of how to use the strips:
Next up on my list of designs to try is the bold leopard print pattern called Kitty Kitty.
Glamazons, will you be trying these easy breezy strips for your next mani? How do you think they compare to minx?
Ciao Bellas,
Glamazon Margo

Can you do a video showing how to apply? I'm still having trouble…lol
