Doesn’t it seem like we’ve been talking about the Whitney movie for months? Well, it finally airs today (Saturday, January 17th at 8 PM on Lifetime) and I’m super anxious to see how it pans out.
Already, Whitney Houston‘s family members, including Cissy and Pat Houston, have spoken out against the film and Pat even wrote “brace yourself for the worst.” I’m still hopeful though, guys, and this is coming from a Whitney Houston stan (I’m also from North New Jersey so growing up, she was my hero!).

With Yaya Dacosta (“The Butler”) in the starring role, Deborah Cox singing Whitney‘s hits and Angela Bassett directing, the movie certainly has the potential to be great.
Yaya is a dead ringer for young Whitney Houston:

Of course, “America’s Next Top Model” alum Yaya looks breathtaking in every clip and as it turns out, she used Fashion Fair throughout the movie.
Fashion Fair is the movie’s official makeup sponsor which is pretty cool because their makeup artists actually worked with Whitney when she was alive, says Fashion Fair president, Amy Hilliard. “As the leading cosmetic line for women of color, we are honored to have the opportunity to sponsor makeup for the movie Whitney,” Hilliard shared. “Over the years, our makeup artists worked on Whitney so we think it’s fitting to capture her look in the film with our rich colors and innovative powders.”
In the wedding scene, Yaya wears Fashion Fair Seduction lipstick. And throughout the film, she rocks Fashion Fair eyeshadows in Sahara Sand, Golden Chestnut and Touch of Gold; blushes in Pearly Paprika and Bronze Blush and pressed powders in Toffee and Sugar.
