Glamazons, it’s wedding season! Just yesterday, as I was ironically chatting back and forth with my friend about my hair for her upcoming wedding (we decided on this natural hair updo, in case you were wondering), I got a Facebook comment from reader JoAnne about a wedding she’ll be attending this Spring. She’s in need of some spring wedding guest dress ideas and we have plenty:
“please help me, I’m looking for either a bomb maxi dress for a spring wedding or a maxi skirt with tribal print.”
Totally doable!
Since sweeping maxi dresses often resemble gowns, it will be fairly easy to pull off. Just stay away from more casual details like plunging necklines and triangle halter tops. Higher necklines (like boatneck, v-neck, high halter tops and sweetheart necklines) will come off fancier. Fabrics like tulle and chiffon also signal that your attire is dressier — and meant for a wedding as opposed to a day on the beach.

If you want a spring wedding guest dress with a shorter hemline, that’s totally appropriate too. As long as it feels like spring — think brights and floral prints — it works perfectly.
What do you want to stay away from? Anything white (unless that’s the dress code) and anything too casual (swim cover-ups, halter tops, netted material, etc.). Also a fun tip for maxis is to add some height with a block or wedge heel, so you’re comfortable during the wedding. (And there’s nothing wrong with packing flats so you can hit the dance floor with ease at the reception).
Hope this helps, and enjoy the wedding!
Kisses,
Glamazon Jessica
