Ready, set, Fashion Week!
I am so excited to hit Lincoln Center yet again for one of the most exciting times in fashion. This season, I’m especially happy that every show at Lincoln Center will be livestreamed (watch here).
Since all of you can watch the shows as it happens, I’ll be doing a lot more exclusive backstage coverage and giving you guys the play-by-play at a ton of events. Stay tuned for all the glamazingness!
So onto my Fashion Week prep ritual, you guys know I don’t really need a reason to dress up (LOL!) but before I set off to conquer New York Fashion Week, I knew I had to look the part. That means a total revamp of my hair (I needed an easy go-to style I can get through the week with) and nails.
For my Fashion Week makeover, I first hit up one of my favorite hair extensions companies: True Indian Hair. Founded by Karen Mitchell, True Indian Hair has the most beautiful, healthy and luxurious selection of hair I’ve seen on the market. You can reuse it (more bang for your buck!) and it comes in a variety of textures from straight to wavy to curly. Seriously, I spent all day just running my fingers through my texture, Indian Deep Curly.
Lurve!
I had it installed by celebrity hairstylist Gabrielle Corney whose responsible for Olivia‘s fantabulous mane on the first season of “Love & Hip Hop: New York.” She dyed my ends darker to blend with the hair and straightened it for a sleek, sophisticated look. Check it out:
I can’t believe how well it blends! Perfection. I also love that Gabi cares about the overall health of my hair and is experienced dealing with natural hair. She also uses the best products, blowdrying my strands with Carol’s Daughter Chocolat Blow Dry Cream which I loooove. Check Gabi out on Instagram and Twitter at @gabidoeshair and on Facebook.
Since yall know I’m currently partial to texture, I let the hair get wavy overnight. Here’s how it turned out:
Finally, I wanted to try something funky and new with my nails so I went to one of my favorite nail artists @NailFrenzyMichelle for the hookup. She painted my nails pink and drew gorgeous black, white and pink nail designs on every other finger.
They so remind me of a DVF print right, Glamazons?
So there you have it: I’m New York Fashion Week ready. Stay tuned for all the fun as the week progresses.
Kisses,
Glamazon Jessica
Special thanks to True Indian Hair, Gabrielle Corney and Nail Frenzy Michelle!
