I always look forward to The Blonds show every season because of the over-the-top glamour! Their collaborations with CND are always a recipe for decadent fashion and nail art inspo…to the millionth power! CND has teamed up with The Blonds at New York Fashion Week and their work gets more intricate and jaw-dropping every season, and we’re 100% here for it!
Here’s the scoop on their latest show:
Inspiration: This season, for The Blonds’ theatrical Spring/Summer 2016 collection, the CND team found inspiration in Egyptology and how the ancient Egyptians wore decadent jewels and treasures when they were buried. Oh, and these ah-mazing designs took about 600 hours to complete! One of the models wore golden winged nails and another wore a sarcophagus nail that opened to reveal a mummified pharaoh with actual locks of Phillipe Blond’s hair. We kid you not!
Get The Look:
1. Completing the designers’ runway looks with a distinct nail style on every model, the elite artists of the CND Design Lab Team hand-sculpted the nails and their larger-than-life embellishments with CND™ Liquid & Powder and CND BRISA™ Gel.
2. Then, they added layers of color with SHELLAC™ Brand 14+ Day Nail Color, VINYLUX™ Weekly Polish and CND™ Additives.
3. Royal golden tones ruled the color palette – antiqued, shimmering and expensive – while accents of blue, turquoise, red and green added texture and dimension.
4. Hieroglyphics, snake and crocodile skins, gold-plated wings, draped headdresses and scarab beetles were constructed and embellished with an array of unconventional materials, including feathers, foils, ribbons, chains, gems, jewels and stones.
