Glamazons – This winter just needs to end. While the weather over the past couple of days mixed with the start of Daylight Savings seems to be screaming “Spring is here!,” it’s just a front. Today here in Manhattan it’s super windy and freezing cold, which is why this post is being written from the comfy and warm confines of my apartment. Besides turning me into somewhat of a hermit crab, the dry, winter air also turns my skin into a mess. Since I’m prone to dry skin during these long winter months, I find myself slathering myself down with layers of moisturizers and oils just so I won’t feel like I’m cracking in half. The problem with this is that you don’t want to look (and feel!) like a greasy mess (especially on your face), so it’s pretty awesome that I found these two new moisturizers from Simple Skincare.
The Nourishing 24-HR Day/Night Cream ($9.99) is a non-greasy moisturizer that utilizes a multi-vitamin enriched formula to deliver long-lasting nourishment (up to 24 hours!) to the skin. Don’t be fooled by its cream formula! It goes on smooth, goes on super light and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin at all after application.
For those of you that are deathly afraid to use any type of cream as a moisturizer on your face for fear that it will look like an oil slick, the Ultra Light Gel Moisturizer ($9.99) is for you. Much like the Day/Night Cream, it contains the same nourishing, multi-vitamin enriched formula; however, in this case it’s encased in a light, gel formula. I love it’s layering potential and usually use this right before applying my daily skin serum and makeup primer. I also have the feeling that this will quickly turn into my skin moisturizer-of-choice once summer arrives!
True to its Simple skincare mantra, neither of these products contain dyes, artificial perfumes or harsh irritants that can upset the skin. Have any of you tried this or any of the other Simple Skincare products yet? If so, what do you think of them?
