Glamazons,
New York Fashion Week is well underway and I can hardly contain my excitement! We’ve been trekking through the snowstorm and crowds to the tents of the Lincoln Center to get our first look at the latest collections. While the second day of NYFW brought a flurry of feminine silhouettes and dramatic prints, the one collection that left me speechless was Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2015. I absolutely love when designers embrace vintage elements with a modern flair, and this edgy take on ’70s style was to-die-for!
Marian Hill serenaded guests, including Zosia Mamet, June Ambrose, Mickey Boardman, and Coco Rocha, with sultry electro-pop tunes as models paraded down the runway.
Here Are the Details on Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall 2015 Colection:
Inspiration: After reading Patti Smith‘s memoir Just Kids on the exuberance of New York in the late ’60s and ’70s, Rebecca Minkoff wanted to create a collection filled with youthful, rock-inspired looks to mimic the style of icons Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, and Jimi Hendrix. The earth tones of olive green, camel, and burgundy with hints of black and white helped to embody the free-spirited vibe of the collection. Of her inspiration, Rebecca said: “The ultimate luxury in life is to be young, beautiful, free and to have found love.”
Key Pieces: Fringe knee-high boots, shearling-trimmed coats, slim cropped jackets, knit outerwear, flowing peasant tops, leather miniskirts, fitted leather trousers, fringe moto jackets, full-length fringe skirts, textured knit separates, chiffon floral maxis, wide-brimmed Western hats, embroidered guitar strap handbags, patterned fishnet tights.
Who We Could See Wearing This Collection: Zoe Kravitz, Kristen Stewart, Vanessa Hudgens, Nicole Richie, Chloe Grace Moretz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

I am obsessed with this full fringe skirt and matching vest. Love!
Backstage Beauty: Tousled tresses were complemented by makeup artist Sarah Lucero‘s mixture of different textures for a 70s-inspired black winged eye and the fun chevron print painted by Essie‘s lead nail artist Michelle Saunders.
Get the fun chevron nail art look created by Michelle Saunders for essie with these steps:
1. Apply one coat of first base base coat to clean, filed nails.
2. Next, apply one coat of essie mademoiselle.
3. To create the zigzag design, create a reverse V-shaped line on the middle of each nail using
one coat of essie berry naughty.
4. Then, create the same reverse V-shaped line on the tip of each nail using one coat of
essie midnight cami.
5. Finish with essie good to go top coat.
Love!
