Nothing sets the tone for a beat face like gorgeously-shaped eyebrows. Plus, it’s important to note that one the fall/winter season’s hottest trends is full, shapely brows!

I was introduced to eyebrow threading a couple of years ago. (Yes, this trend is hot, but if not properly executed you can look an absolute mess because too thin is a burning mess and too thick just isn’t cute!) And Glamazons, I love you too much to let you walk around looking cray.

That’s why I touched base with Reema Khan of s.h.a.p.e.s Brow Bar for her expert advice on eyebrow threading, how to pick the right shape for your face and hwo to properly maintain your glam brows.

Glamazon Margo: What sets eyebrow threading apart from plucking or waxing?

Reema Khan: Threading is a centuries old technique that pulls either one or multiple hairs from the root. What separates it so greatly from waxing is that the skin is never pulled on which translates into less pain and also less sagging in areas such as brows, which is very important to many women. The difference from plucking is that it can be professionally done and your brows will be more even and better shaped to your face.

GM: What’s the most common mistake people make when it comes to getting hair removed this way?

RK: When going in for an appointment, it is important to make sure to tell your threader exactly what it is that you are looking for. That would be the most common error people make when getting their brows done.

GM: I’m addicted to getting my brows threaded but I have friends who won’t do it because they say it looks like it hurts! How do you convince potential clients who have reservations about getting their hair threaded because they think it will be painful?

RK: Threading does not stick to your skin and only pulls out the hair, making it far less painful than waxing! Threaders also move incredibly fast so that the process is not only precise but takes no more than ten minutes.

GM: How can a person determine the best eyebrow shape for their face?

RK: The easiest way is to use something straight such as an eyebrow brush and follow these three steps:

1. Hold the straight object from the outside of your nose straight up. This is where your eyebrow should start.

2. Angle the brush out to your iris. This is where the highest part of your arch should be.

3. Now angle the brush to the outside of your eye. This is where your brow should end.

GM: Are there any beauty products that can be used to help with brow growth and maintenance?

RK: As far as maintenance, it is important for every girl to have tweezers and an eyebrow brush. I have one trick that has been passed down from generation to generation, if you are trying to make your brows grow back rub a little bit of castor oil on your brows every night.

GM: What are some of the main services that you provide at s.h.a.p.e.s Brow Bar?

RK: Our most popular service is definitely eyebrow shaping. The other services that we provide are full face threading, and we have started to roll out additional services such as body waxing, mini facials, blow-outs and makeup application.

Glamazons, weren’t Reema’s tips super helpful? How many of you are going to try threading now? Any more questions, leave them in the comments and we’ll do our best to answer.

Here’s to fab, perfectly-shaped brows!

The brow bar hires nothing but illegal aliens from another country to do this so they can keep their profit margins high. Stay away and go with an American salon in your neighborhood.
