My favorite time of year is here: 4th of July weekend. Besides the chance to wear red and white and blue, I love Independence Day because it’s in the heart of the summer and it’s the timing of my favorite music festival: Essence Festival.

This year, we’ll be hitting up the star-studded parties, the famous restaurants and the legendary concerts (as always) but also hosting our own event, the #NolaCrawl Style Suite presented by Ford Motor Company and co-hosted by Sekou of Simply Rides. We’ll be giving away tickets to the #Essencefest concerts at our event so you don’t want to miss it!

THURSDAY
8:00 PM – #EssenceFest concerts, Superdome, 1500 Sugar Bowl Drive
We’ll be at the Superdome to see Jazmine Sullivan (8:00), K. Michelle (8:45), Trey Songz (9:30) and Nas (10:50 – my fave rapper of all time)!
FRIDAY
11 AM – 12 PM – Ford Test Drive // Convention Center, 900 Convention Center Boulevard
We’ll be at the Ford booth at the Convention Center to test drive the 2014 Ford Fusion and 2014 Escape! You can test drive the cars from 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM everyday from Friday to Sunday.
3 PM – 5 PM – Eden Bodyworks #CelebrateMyBeauty Event // W Hotel, 333 Poydras Street
Join us at the Eden Bodyworks #Celebrate My Beauty event hosted by the brand’s founder, Jasmine Lawrence and Francheska Medina of Hey Fran Hey. Love their message about celebrating inner and outer beauty through EDEN BodyWorks hair demonstrations, health/wellness stations, mini-manicures and massage therapy. You can catch me at the massage station! :)
8:20 PM – #EssenceFest concerts // Superdome, 1500 Sugar Bowl Drive
We’re headed to the Superdome to see Janelle Monae (8:20), Nile Rodgers (9:20) and His Purple Highness Prince (10:30)! And I’m sneaking out to see SWV at the Superlounge at 9:25pm!
SATURDAY
12 PM – 3 PM – #NolaCrawl Style Suite // Royal Sonesta Hotel, 300 Bourbon Street
Don’t miss our first-ever #NolaCrawl Style Suite! We’ll be giving away tickets to the #EssenceFest concerts at the Superdome and prizes from brands like Beautiful Textures plus live music, mini manicures, light bites, cocktails and much more! We’ll be at the Superdome to see Jill Scott (10:10) and Mary J. Blige (11:30). And I’ll be sneaking away to see Marsha Ambrosius in the Superlounge at 8:30pm and 112 at the Superlounge at 9:50pm! *cues “Cupid”*
SUNDAY
12:00 PM – Ford Sirus Booth // Convention Center, 900 Convention Center Boulevard
We’ll be hanging out at the Convention Center at the Ford x Sirius booth which will have star sightings all weekend (Tamar Braxton, Erykah Badu, Charlie Wilson and Lionel Richie are scheduled to swing by). Last time, I met Idris Elba, Trey Songz and T.I. Good times!

7:00 PM – #Essencefest Concerts // Superdome, 1500 Sugar Bowl Drive
We’re headed to the Superdome to see Tamar Braxton (7:00), Erykah Badu (7:50), Charlie Wilson (9:10) and Lionel Richie (11:00)! I’ll be sneaking away to see Kelly Price in the Superlounge at 8:10 and Elle Varner in the Superlounge at 9:50!
