Clairol’s Natural Instincts Show A Hair Dye Virgin That It’s Easy As 1-2-3!

Confession: I’ve never dyed my hair! As a beauty product junkie myself, this is a shocking thing to admit to fellow beauty lovers. Being an Asian with naturally brown hair and reddish streaks, people tell me all the time not to mess with it so I’m leaving it as is for now. However, it doesn’t mean that I’m not curious about one day changing it up!

The wonderful Marie Robinson (the Clairol Color Director) invited bloggers to her chic salon on 5th Avenue salon to test out the brand new Natural Instincts Week 2 Color Refresher. I bumped into fellow beauty blogger, Adina, from KraseyBeauty.com who was brave enough to step up her dark chocolate-colored locks to the Natural Instincts hair dye in #32 “Burgundy Brown.”

Here’s Adina’s before shot, discussing with Marie on what color she should try (she recommended most people should only go two shades up from their current hair color).

While we set our timer to ten minutes and waited for the color to set, I wandered over to a model nearby who graciously let me play hair-colorists-for-a-day and test out the product on her ’do. One of the things I loved in particular about the dye is that there aren’t any strong smells and um, did I say it only takes ten minutes? Amazing! Even newbies like me could handle that, no problem!

Each box comes with a packet of Color Refresher that you should use two weeks after your dye-job to give your hair another boost of color. You can just massage it in your hair in the shower, focusing on the roots, and lets you replenish the color that fades over time. Why didn’t we think of that before?!

I caught Adina getting her hair blowdried and you can tell her roots are a bit more reddish. Best part: you can total copy this at home. Natural Instincts Week 2 Color Refresher is available at drugstores now.

Glamazons, are you thinking of doing a hair color change soon? Have you ever had a bad hair color experience? Tell me about it below!

What a coincidence, I picked up some natural instincts dark burgandy brown semi-permanent hair color yesterday. I havent done it yet but plan to soon. I haven't died my hair in a couple of years. It's natural color is dark, dark brown. And since I'm african american people don't believe me and insist that it's black. I have 3 daughters my oldest and youngest have black hair my middle child has the same hair color as me but with more highlights. Another intersting thing is that my oldest has actual gold strands in her hair, prettty cool huh.
